Why Book With Us

What You Actually Get.

Plenty of operators will drive you to the same places. Here is what is different about going with us, stated plainly enough that you can hold us to it.

  • Guides who know the order of the rites

Every journey is led by someone who can tell you what is happening at each shrine and why it happens in that sequence. That is the difference between visiting a temple and taking part in what goes on there.

  • Permits and paperwork handled

The Annapurna Conservation Area permit for Muktinath, the Langtang National Park permit and TIMS card for Gosaikunda, Bhutan’s visa, and temple entry permissions and priest arrangements. We do the paperwork and tell you exactly what we need from you.

  • Altitude taken seriously

Every journey that goes high states its highest point on its page, with what to watch for. The Gosaikunda Trek carries an oxygen cylinder, and on the Pathibhara Yatra the team carries a pulse oximeter, with emergency oxygen arranged where required and available.

  • Vegetarian meals on the yatras

Most of our yatras include pure vegetarian meals, and the Nepal Shiva Yatra keeps them sattvic. Each journey page lists exactly which meals are included.

  • Small groups

Journeys run from as few as one or two travellers. The price falls as the group grows and we publish the whole ladder rather than one headline figure.

  • Eleven percent goes back

A fixed share of the revenue from every journey funds education, healthcare and community projects in the regions we travel through. It comes out of our share, not yours.

If something on this list matters to you and you want it in writing before you book, ask. We would rather answer the question than have you wonder.
